This shot-change obsession is killing me. Reviewing some horribly timed #subtitles and that comment from a @Netflix fan is stuck in my head: "Have you noticed that Netflix subtitles disappear too fast? Or am I a slow reader?"

How can you possibly read and understand a sentence if one word is in one shot, a couple more words in the next one and so forth? Reception studies please! #subtitlingresearch #receptionstudies

Apart from #readability, there's also aesthetics. I am looking at two subtitles, containing one word each, lasting less than a second, appearing and disappearing like a flash. And all this because of the shot changes. Who told those people you have to do it like this?
