Indeed, the most challenging aspect for most #subtitling students is how to #condense, paraphrase, knowing what to #omit. Interestingly, for some it's easier than others. It can be learned but it's also a talent.

I also agree with the need to tolerate imperfect solutions: the perfect pun that doesn't fit the character limits or the perfect match to audio that does not match the shot change. That's why when you manage to get all of them right, the sense of satisfaction is even greater
