Got stuck in a #subtitle combining #humor and #L3.
L1=Spanish L2=Greek.
The speaker mispronounces L3=English in a way that is funny only if you speak L1.
If I translate it through a funny equivalent in L2, then L3 is lost (in the subtitles, but discernible through audio)

If I highlight L3 (through a subtitle in L3 or a zero-subtitle) then humour is lost.
In both cases viewers will understand what is happening, it's evident.
I'll probably choose the first option, try to bring a smile.

Of course, it's weird to have a subtitle in Greek when we all know she is learning English, but I trust in:
a) Suspension of disbelief
b) Intelligent viewers
