The term “human translators” keeps popping up lately, especially with the recent human vs. AI slams.
But do we really need the specifier? Aren't translators human by default? Does it protect against being replaced by machines, or does it undermine the profession?
What do you think?

A bit more about the options:
- No way! Translators are human by default. Specifying is redundant and demeaning.
- It’s necessary to specify. Like it or not, we need to distinguish humans from machines.
- It could actually be smart marketing. “Human translator” highlights quality, like a human-made seal.
