A sea of academic papers are published on a daily basis. Some go through rigorous peer review, while others are released without scrutiny. Sometimes, studies with questionable methods or extremely limited conclusions are picked up and amplified. And their findings are then treated as indisputable facts.

In the localization industry, this pattern is especially problematic. Biased research, or isolated cases presented as broader trends can mislead professionals, and influence critical decisions about tools and workflows.

Our industry urgently needs *independent*, *objective*, *large-scale* research to provide reliable data and verified insights.

And we need an independent observatory of experts to assess claims and debunk myths.

Thank you, Belén Agulló García, Ph.D. for checking this one out.
