We have been talking about "read-along subtitles" (like #SDH but without sound descriptors) used for dubbed content (hence the name #dubtitles). But why not pair them with the original audio too? A fantastic idea by #Netflix, catering to the needs of so many hearing viewers who enjoy subtitles:
- language learners
- individuals with ADD or divided attention (hey, multitaskers)
- people in noisy environments (looking at you, crunchy snacks)
- those needing silence (anybody with sleeping partners and/or kids?)
- young viewers who can’t get enough of subtitles for one reason or another
- film enthusiasts who don’t want to miss a single word - especially Christopher Nolan fans 😉

It was great to see some of these categories highlighted by Mark S Harrison in his presentation at Languages & The Media #LAM24, as I had also expanded on them during my talk at #HispaTAV in Madrid.
