Listened to Ezra Klein's interview on educating kids in the age of AI last night. It's long form, a bit more than one hour. I was hooked. His thoughts and questions were so exactly like mine, it was scary. I think everybody would benefit from listening to this whether you (plan to) have kids or not. A balanced discussion, with arguments pro and against, helps you arrive at sound conclusions.
PS1: The irony is that I saw it posted by a thought leader pushing for AI in K12 education, because her school was mentioned. I guess she didn't listen to all of it, or she'd have to bury it.
PS2: One compelling thing to remember: Creators of tech forbid their kids to use it and don't send them to schools based around their own tech. Sam's kid is too young, but I'll be looking closely to check out his decisions.
