First they came for "delve" and "navigate into the realms."
Then for the em dashes.
Soon all those "it's not this but that", "but here's the thing" are going to disappear too. Not because they are bad, but because they are overused (this antithesis is all mine!).
I wonder if authors of AI slop will delete or hide their past writings. It's hard to proudly own generic crap. At least I hope they understand that if they want to come across as authentic, they can't rely on overused tropes. (Then again I wonder: How can they not see it? Don't they read before they post? Don't they realize the overuse?)
Sure they can detect all those tropes before pressing "post". The punctuation tics, the overused lexical clichés, the empty parallelisms. But the hardest trope to correct is superficiality, banality and emptiness (this formulaic tricolon is mine too!)
Oh, and if you want to read about the latest on AI slop tropes, stay tuned for the next post by the AI Localization Think Tank.
