Been thinking about the AI bubble, and I agree with Leon Furze's recent analysis that it’s mainly financial. He argues that when it bursts, the noise might “dissipate into something more productive”.

Of course I worry about the financial collapse, the layoffs and its wider impact (not so much for the smaller companies that will be crushed, they know what they’re getting into).

What worries me more, though, is that instead of dissipating into productivity (maybe because it fails?), big tech seems to be pushing the other way: emotional and erotic monetization, companionship. Starting with Grok and its “sexy” mode and “spicy” features, now we are seeing Meta’s wearables marketed as your “Friend” and OpenAI opening up erotica in December.

Luckily there some signs of hope: New Yorkers pushing back and the Nokia trend. Will be on the lookout for more.

- Psomoula, my little bread roll, what do you think about all this?
- Too busy right now, come back later.
