I began translating in 1995, worked as an interpreter from 1998 to 2008, and have been subtitling since 2001. Professional translation has remained a constant alongside my research and teaching.

I am a senior researcher at the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus” (CTI) in Greece. My research began with subtitling norms and developed into work on audiovisual translation, accessibility, language learning and educational technology. I have coordinated or participated in national and European research projects and published in translation studies and education.

I have taught at the Hellenic Open University, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and other institutions. My teaching connects Spanish language education, audiovisual translation and digital tools.

I serve as Vice President of the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation (ESIST) and co-founded the Women in Localization Greece Chapter. I have also served on the boards of Greek professional and scholarly translation associations.

My current work includes postdoctoral research at the Hellenic Open University on AI in education and audiovisual creation. I am interested in what technologies enable, what they may displace, and the ways professional judgement and creative agency are valued.
